"Money in the mouth." ... or ... "Give it away now."
Last month I wrote about how the incessant pursuit of growth can pervert a business endeavor ... and I dreamed of a sustainable business model that instead focused on 'everything that is most important'.
This month, I'm going to put my money where my mouth is.
I've always held a special sort of envy for trained professional who have the ability to put their vocational skills to use in tangible, hands on ways to intervene when tragic events occur around the globe. Take, for instance, ... my aunt Ramona, a registered nurse. She recently raised enough funds to pay for a trip to Haiti to help treat the hundreds of thousands injured by the recent earthquakes. Another example, my good friend Micah, an expert on all things construction and development related, who has dedicated to moving to Ethiopia in April (with his family of five!) to put his skills to use building an orphanage for children rescued from tribal infanticide. How cool to be able to help like that, yaknow? But what can *I* do?
'Everything that is the most important' must surely extend beyond growing a business and turning a profit. Take that thought and add in to the mix a new employee and add in me wanting to help others, and well, ... I have an idea that I am really excited about!
Tying this all together now ... stick with me ...
We've brought on a new member to our team here at Styrsky Insurance Agency, John Dickson (john@teamsia.com). As John comes on board, I want him to keep in mind 'everything that is most important'. To help launch him in the right direction ... from now until the end of March:

Everything earned from policies that John writes ... we are giving away. EVERY PENNY! Doubly cool, I am working with Farmers Insurance to try to obtain a matching contribution.

* $10 DONATED for every referral or quote request!
Whether we sell a policy or not, each time John receives a request for a quote we will donate $10. If you've been meaning to get around to have us take a look at your insurance package or have a friend you think would be benefit from our services, ... now is the time!
At the begining of April, we will tally up the referrals and commissions earned (hopefully with an additional matching check from Farmers), and will make a donation to support my friend Micah's adventure to Ethiopia. Micah is working with an internationally recognized organization, Drawn From Water. As mentioned earlier, he is going there to build an orphanage for children who have been rescued from tribal infanticide ... they have an amazing video up on their website. PLEASE ...
